First-Time Sign-in

First-time sign-in involves three steps:

1. First you must change your PIN (default is 9999)
2. Then you must record your recorded name
3. Finally you must choose a greeting to play to callers before they leave a message.

The greeting and recorded name are played each time a caller accesses your mailbox to leave a message.

NOTE: You may skip first-time sign-in once by pressing the * key twice, but after skipping it once, you must complete all three steps the next time you call in. You can also end the setup process at any point by ending the call. If you do so, you are asked to complete the remaining setup steps the next time you enter your mailbox.
From your own phone, dial XXX-9000 and enter the default PIN 9999.

Changing your PIN

First, to secure your account, you must set up a new PIN. A prompt asks you to enter a new PIN, and explains the length of PIN allowed by your telephone service provider.

1. Enter a new PIN, pressing # when finished.
2. Confirm the new PIN by re-entering it and pressing# when finished.

Recording your name

Next, you are prompted to record your name. This is used by Call Manager for some system-generated announcements, for example when greeting your callers or when you leave messages for others.

Your recording should be less than ten seconds long. If it is too long, you will be asked to re-record a shorter version.

1. Record your name and press # when finished.
2. An announcement plays your recording back to you.
* If you want to re-record it, press 1.
* If you want to keep it, press #.

Choosing a greeting

Once you have successfully recorded your name, you are prompted to select a greeting. You can use a number of different types of greeting.

1. To record your own personal greeting, press 1.
2. Then record your personal greeting, pressing # when finished.
3. To use a system-generated greeting that announces your recorded name, press 2.
4. To use a system-generated greeting that reads out your phone number, press 3.
5. To use a system-generated greeting that neither announces your name nor reads out your phone number, press 4.

An announcement plays back your selected greeting.
- To record or select a different greeting, press 1.
- To save it and use it as your greeting, press #.

This is the last step in setting up your mailbox.
High-Speed Internet FAQ
Cheqnet Internet Access, a service of Norvado, offers the best local Internet access in the area. Using Internet access, our subscribers are able to e-mail, browse the World Wide Web, FTP, Telnet, Chat and more on a global scale. With a low busy signal ratio, local technical support and advanced options like virus protection and junk mail filtering, we bring the world to your personal computer without any worries. And in most areas, we offer High Speed Internet (DSL) service. This service allows users to access the internet at speeds approximately 20 times faster than dial-up without "busying" your phone line.

In the event that your Cable TV and/or High Speed Internet signal is lost due to a power interruption, please attempt the following before calling our office for assistance:

If you have Cheqtel IPTV service:

1. Unplug the ZHONE MODEM and the Set-Top-Box from electrical power and wait 30 seconds.
2. Reconnect the ZHONE MODEM to the electrical power and wait 5 minutes
3. Plug the Set Top Box back into the electrical power.
4. The Set-Top-Box takes several minutes to reinitialize.
5. Verify that your television set is tuned to the channel that corresponds with the label on your remote control.
6. If still no signal, contact Norvado Dispatch at (715) 798-3000.

If you do not have Cheqtel IPTV service:

1. Unplug the ZHONE MODEM from electrical power and wait 30 seconds.
2. Reconnect the ZHONE MODEM to the electrical power and wait 5 minutes
3. Verify that your computer can access the Internet.
4. If still no Internet, contact Norvado Dispatch at (715) 798-3000.

If you have a LinkSys hub or another many-to-one computer device plugged into the ZONE MODEM, you will want to recycle the power as described above for that device as well.

After any electrical storms that pass through our area, we get several calls from DSL customers and in many cases these actions clear the trouble. While you are certainly encouraged to call our office any time you experience trouble with our services, taking these actions on your own before calling can save you a lot of time. You may be able to solve your own problem in minutes rather than wait hours for a repairman.

[Can I use a pager that I purchased from another company?]

In some instances, you may be able to use an existing pager.

If the pager uses synthesised frequencies then we can change its frequency to work with our system, otherwise the pager would have to be sent in to have its frequency changed.

[Can I get an 800 number to use with my pager?]

Yes. All of our paging services offer an optional 800 service.
